Who are we?
DidimFurniture.com was established 2 years ago, we provide furniture to both Turks and non Turks who have property within the Didim and Akbuk region of Turkey.
We came into existance around 2 years ago when I realised there was very little help for peope who had bought property in the area, sure the estate agents were helping to furnish but were (and still are) charging premium prices and limited choice.
Please let me take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself my name is Engin, I am the person who will answer your email. Throughout my time in the area I have been involved with interior decoration in one way or another and I have teamed up with a number of skilled craftsmen in the area to form DidimFurniture.com.
What do we do?
In short we are here to help you furnish your property in a style that is unique to you and suits your needs.
We can do as much or as little as you want us to do to furnish your property. If you are busy, give me a style, colour range and budget and we can do everything for you, all you will need to do is turn up and unpack your suitcase. Alternatively pick individual items from our site, maybe you already have a house and just want to buy a single item, that is not a problem either, order and it will delivered whenever you want, if you are not here we will take a picture for you, if, for any reason you are not happy with the item when you arrive let us know and we will replace or give a full refund*.
If you prefer to see before you buy that is not a problem either, I can pick you up and we can go shopping together whether it be for a whole house or for a single piece it is not a problem. I can take you to our showroom and introduce you to our carpenter so you can see the quality for yourself. Please be sure there is no hard sell or obligation to buy.
Maybe you have a vision of a particular piece of furniture, perhaps a four poster bed, a love seat in a bay window or a leather bed setee. Let us know we have contacts with many suppliers I can't possibly show everything we have available on our site, just ask and I can send individual photos.
Many people contact me and say I saw a great piece of furniture in John Lewis or Marks and Spencer etc and I would love something like this. I shouldn't say this but hey we are in Turkey! - Send us a picture and we will give you a quote for the same piece of furniture, hand made from solid pine and stained to the colour of you choice. It is not as expensive as you think. Our carpenter has over 30 years experience, 20 years locally, he has an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. In the 3 years we have been operation we have helped scores of customers from all over Eurpoe who have been more than happy with both our products and service.
Surely it is cheaper if I come over and shop myself?
To be honest not really, no. It is true there are many furniture shops in Didim you can hire a car and spend several days touring the shops, but what about your holiday? Maybe you know somebody from your estate agency, local bar or hotel who says they can help you, they probably can but they will take you to shops that give comission (usually 10-15%) and that will ultimately be passed on to you. I do not want to tell tales but it is common practice over here.
At Didimfurniture.com we source our products very carefully, quality, reliability and trustworthiness are our top prorities but so is price competiveness.
We try to source our products from local suppliers and where possible local materials. This brings 2 advantages, the first being that revenue supports the local economy not large chain stores and secondly our suppliers rely heavily on local reputation to stay in business not fancy advertising campaigns. This is reflected in the price and service.
However, we do also deal with major chain stores especially when you request something specific that my wholesale suppliers do not have but because we are an established business, provide regular business and request lower commission rates (sorry but we can't afford to provide our services for free) we can charge the same price as you would pay at the shop.
In addition to this add what you would pay for car hire, flights etc (lets face it trailing the shops is not a perfect holiday even for the best shopoholic) we are value for money.
Pricing Policy
We constantly check our prices against the Turkish furniture market to ensure we are truely competitive with current trends. For your peice of mind we have fixed our prices at the minimum we cannot barter or offer discounts on orders over the internet and Paypal.
Unless otherwise stated our prices include delivery, fitting and guarentee. We also offer a full, friendly English speaking support service to answer any queries about your order or just offer general advice about setting up house in Turkey.
Payments
We accept payment for goods by bank transfer or Paypal for delivery prior to your arrival in Turkey. As Paypal does not recognise Turkish Lira, you would be invoiced in GBP according to the days exchange rate. All sofa and electrical orders must be made this way however with regards to other furniture you can place an order whenever you want and arrange to have it delivered whilst you are in Turkey, in which case payment is required upon receipt.

Delivery
When ordering from the UK we like to deliver a day or two before you arrive so everything is waiting from you when you arrive and hasn't been damaged or soiled whilst standing in an empty house. If you need furniture (sofas excluded) urgently or you are purchasing from us locally we like to quote 7 days delivery time to avoid disappointment although we can often delivery sooner than that depending upon the time of year and availability. Many of our sofas are custom made to your specification in which case delivery is 3-5 weeks. We deliver free of charge to anywhere on the Didim/Akbuk we can also deliver furniture and sofas to other areas of Turkey for a small charge contact us for details.
Electrical Goods
Unfortunately we are unable to sell electrical goods online, however please checkout http://www.arcelik.com.tr/ (it has an option to turn the page into English). This list the types of products (with up to date price list) available. For a service charge we can order and co-ordinate delivery so everything is waiting for you when you arrive.
